There’re a lot of wonderful places in Iwate, so I want many people to come to Iwate.

By the way, There are spectacular spots all over the country where you can see beautiful view. You sometimes go on a trip or drive to see these, right? What is your favorite scenic spot?

There are places where such scenic spots are recognized by many people, and there are still many hidden scenic spots that are not well known.

Today I will introduce hidden scenic spot “Daibugaiwa” where you can see the spectacular view of Ichinoseki and Hiraizumi.

Daibugaiwa” is a huge stone located on the hillside of Mt. Kannon, and is close to the venerable “Mogusa Shrine” built in 718, which is said to be the sacred place of sword enthusiasts because the surrounding area is considered to be the birthplace of Japanese swords.

It is said that it used to serve as a training ground and a lectern. According to ancient documents, it is said to be a megalith with a height of 48m.

It is a hidden scenic spot where you can climb on top of Daibugaiwa and overlook the view of Ichinoseki and Hiraizumi spreading in front of you.

It’s the view from Daibugaiwa, which is a spectacular spot known to those in the know.

You can see the cityscape of Ichinoseki on the left and the townscape of Hiraizumi on the right that is also a World Heritage Site. In addition, The rural view spreading in front of it, the Kitakami River flowing between them, and the bridge through which the Tohoku Shinkansen passes You can also see how it goes.

There are few trees that obstruct the view, so a beautiful view spreads out, and it is a superb view unique to a region with a lot of nature in which each element is well harmonized.

Not only the view during the day, but also the view where you can see the setting sun in the evening is dyed in different colors. In addition, it will take some time in the early morning of the day when the temperature difference is large, and it seems that you can enjoy a fantastic view surrounded by mist. The place is on the mountainside, so it may be a little scary, but you will see the starry sky beautifully at night.

Please note that you may not be able to see the beautiful view on bad weather, and you need to be careful when climbing because there are no fences on Daibugaiwa.

You can drive to the vicinity of Daibugaiwa from the eastern approach to the Mokusa shrine. There is parking at the place where the steel tower stands, and from there it is a short walk to there.
