What is Itsukushien?
The lord of Sendai “Masamune Date” also praised “I have two major scenic spots in my territory“, when he saw the beautiful view of the famous scenic spot “Genbikei Gorge” in Ichinoseki.
“Itsukushien” is a historical hot spring inn that was established in 1891 on the banks of Genbikei Gorge. It is also one of the “Ichinoseki Onsen Village”.
It is a hot spring inn full of humanity, keeping the tradition of pure Japanese-style, with the motto of comfort and contact with human hospitality. One of the attractions is the hot spring where you can hear the murmur of the stream and enjoy the view of Gembi Gorge up close.
It is perfect not only for being close to Gembikei Gorge, but also as a base for your trip, close to the Ichinoseki city area and the world heritage Hiraizumi. It is also recommended to take a one-day hot spring and relax after enjoying sightseeing.
