Kappabuchi Pool【Kappa】
Speaking of Tono, I think many people associate Kappa?
Actually, There are 5 tells about Kappa in The Legends of Tono. Among these, The most famous place is Kappabuchi Pool.
It is located in Jokenji Temple. Clear water flows smoothly there and covered with thick bushes, so There is an atmosphere where Kappa seems to come out somehow.

Denshoen is a facility that reproduces the old lifestyle of the Tono region. You can see Magariya ‘Kikuchi Residence‘ and Kizen Sasaki Memorial Hall where introduce Kizen Sasaki who is speaker of The Legends of Tono.
Among them, Oshirado where thousands Oshirasama are enshrined is the focus. Oshirasama is the god who was born from the sad love story of a horse and daughter and worshiped as a god of silkworms, agriculture and horses.

Meganebashi【The Night of The Milky way Train】
Meganebashi is an arch bridge over Miyamori river that through the JR Kamaishi line. The shape of the bridge looks like glasses, so It is called Meganebashi.
It is said that Iwate Keiben Railway that the predecessor of JR Kamaishi line became the motif of the fairy tale ‘The Night of The Milky way Train‘ written by Kenji Miyazawa. so The retro look and illuminated figure of Meganebashi remind us of that fairy tale.
It is also famous for running steam locomotives.
