かつて伊達藩から「お止め山」として一般の採掘が禁止されるほど貴重だった紫雲石。その紫雲石を用いた東山名産品「紫雲石硯」は、鋒鋩が非常に優れており墨のおりが良く書道家の方に人気があります。かつて紫雲石硯の製硯者は5~6人いたが、現在は唯一人となってしまいました。本記事は紫雲石硯の紹介と唯一残る製硯者さんのインタビュー記事です。
