Oosuzu is in Higashiyama town, Ichinoseki city, Iwate. It was selected as one of the 20 famous water of Iwate.

In the past, The people who go to worship Dewasanzan purified their bodies with this water.

It is said that the amount of spring water is 21,000t a day. It is used for town water supply.

The water is so transparent that you can see the bottom. Moreover, you can see Baikamo as well as Shizu-no-wakkutsu. It’s water-crowfoot that grows in a beautiful and quiet river.

Where is Oosuzu?

Address Nagasakasatomae, Higashiyama town, Ichinoseki city, Iwate.
Access 【By car】Ichinoseki station ~ Oosuzu about 30min

Oosuzu is about 100m along the river from Zenryuji Temple. It may be a little hard to find, but you can find it by going along the river.

The beautiful water is springing out here!

The amount of spring water is 21,000t a day at Oosuzu and flowing into Satetsu river. It’s surrounded by nature and quiet, so time goes by slowly and leisurely. It was such a nice feeling.

The water is so transparent, so you can clearly see the bottom. The water is glistening in the sunlight. You can also see Baikamo that white flowers bloom in summer.
